Deep, almost black colour with a magenta edge. The aroma is of concentrated black pepper, Dutch licorice and charry oak, just a hint of cool climate stalkiness. A touch more stalky on the palate but terrific weight with good length and soft tannins. There are mulberry and other black fruit flavours with just a hint of ground black pepper at the finish.
