Details
Garnet in colour, the wine bursts with aromas of raspberry, strawberries, maraschino cherries and aniseed. Supporting the fresh red berry fruit aromas, is the oak with clove and cinnamon. The wine is beautifully structured with fine, velvety tannins and the summer berry fruits continue on the palate. Fine grained oak is well integrated with the fruit and provides rich vanilla and cinnamon aromas.
Like all great Pinot, the 2020 Inara Pinot noir would be delicious with Asian inspired duck but would be equally at home with barbequed meats.
The grapes were harvested at night to retain fruit purity and were immediately destemmed and crushed for fermentation. Tannin and colour extraction were carefully monitored to provide the wine with its structure without overpowering the ripe berry fruit characteristics. After alcoholic fermentation, 30% of the wine was placed in new barrels for malolactic fermentation. After malolactic fermentation, this wine was aged in new oak for 9 months.
